Is this supposed to be cribbing, just for the heck of it? In what way can getting a 2 yr EAD be bad news?
For EB ROW, if they issue 1 yr EAD...does tht mean their 485s are not approved for at least 1 yr?
First off its only informational, so other people know that even with PD being current you can receive 2 year EAD.
Well, good news because i don't have to worry about renewing it for another 18 months, bad news because does it mean my 485 is nowhere near processing.
Either way im not fretting about it, when its my turn i will get it. It was just a statement.

This was a joke on the bill and meant to point out the injustice. Please ignore this.
I have been to DC 4 times this year in 2007 and I or other core group members are not going to give up on amendments. And Aman has been there every 2 weeks. I am not kidding. He has been there either on Mon-Tue or Thu-Fri 2 times each month doing meetings in Senate offices and educating and finding sponsors. We are not going to give up now after all that hard work just because the bill is ridiculous.
Just because I am taunting the injustice of the bill doesnt mean that I or others have given up. WE ARE in position to put in amendments. How much, I dont know. But pretty sure that we will make a good amount of difference.

Thanks Arihant. Yes it is strange and I am trying to find their ulterior motive behind this. All the while I thought my employer is not one of the typical desi employers (read blood sucking) we hear about in this forum. Hope I am right.

If I quit my current employer and join another company, how would I let USCIS know to forward all their RFEs to my new employer/lawyer and not to the old one. I dont understand why we are hurt when 2 Indian companies were asked to detail how they used the nearly 20000 H1B visas they procured this time. DAMNN!!! IT IS VERY VERY IMP TO KNOW THAT. How many of these H1s are going to be brought here and sold to other companies, how much and WHO pays them etc. Do you realize how many biotech companies couldn't hire people this time just because these monsters gobbled up all the H1s:mad: :mad: H1 is tailormade to boost the american economy and I firmly believe (just as any other country would wisely do) that the first preferance should be for US companies, OK. If the senators are wise, they will and they should, make it sure this time that this never happens in future. Regarding software, I firmly believe, as somebody mentioned earlier, that they also need to start small training centers everywhere. I dont say that there are not good professionals comming in, but believe me, all those so called mca, pgdca etc etc Man!! some of them even dont know the basics of computer!!

I know what the job title and Job duties were stated in the Labor certification and have acopy of my Labor certification application with me, but if you can give me the format of the letter for AC21 that would be great.

2+ 3 you are mentioning is where +3 = three year degree program like BSc / BCS/ BCom programs offered in India. Here I think we are discussing 3 year DIPLOMA program the eligiblity for which is 10th grade. After finishing this program in some universities you are waived 1st year coursework for the degree program in same field. So for regular people it is 10+2+4 to get a bachelors where as people taking the diploma route it is 10+3+3. So in this case of our friend his 10+3 is equivalent to completed only 1st year degree program. the +2 overlaps with what he has studied in +3 and the +1 in commerce will not be counted in coursework.
Anuj: What subject was your diploma was it a management diploma or engineering diploma? What was the eligiblity for the same? Was the institute reputed like does it have an entrance test? If yes do you know their acceptance rate? Might help in preparing a case

Whenever I e-mailed them with a question, I received answers promptly. I called them to know about status and received precise replies.

Here are a few reasons why I want to get the gc:
1) freedom to change jobs to make a higher salary so that I don't have to work two H1 jobs simultaneously
2) freedom to change your career track into another area, which cannot be done even with AC21 (job has to be essentially the same position)
3) freedom to travel out of the country and back in without going to Canada/Mexico each year for revalidation, for not only personal but even urgent busines trips. I get to see my family and friends, and not spend hundreds of $ in govt and legal fees
4) freedom to quit a job because the company/boss sucks
5) freedom to make enough money so that I can take a break from any job for a while (yes, this is actually a possibility if you have a well-enough paying job)
6) freedom to have one's dependents take advantage of benefits like in-state tuition, and other benefits residency brings
7) and finally freedom from the immense stress that I will lose my job and consequently all the time I have spent waiting for my gc, perhaps uproot myself and have to return to a place where I may not necessarily feel is home anymore
So am I doing what I really want?

To me, holding that GC in my hand would mean that I haven't gone through all the ordeals I have gone through so far for no reason...

OK... now my primary project/goal from my side for this weekend is to make sure letter from my friends and known resources did their hand written letters to President or check if if they already did and worst case scenario make them print those letters sign them and mail to white house & copy to IV... I am pretty sure all our effort will NOT GO WASTE!!

ramus, i dont think local office will issue AP unless its an emergency. I am saying this bcoz i was in the local office today and they made it clear unless its absolute emergency AP will be issued only by NSC. In case of emergecy you need to show a valid proof that someone in your family is seriously sick.
