This mail is to update you guys on the outcome of meeting with Staff Assistant of Senator Carl Levin - Michigan and members of Immigration voice namely
Gajendra Prasad
Stanley Samuel
Manoj kumar
We emphasized the following points
1. We are not talking about H1 increase.
2. Reverse Brain drain impacts.
3. Outsourcing economies gaining edge because of Americas poor legal immigration policies.
4. Delays in normal processing.
5. Impact of Backlogs on America competitiveness.
6. Impact of Backlogs on immigrations careers and their contribution to the industry.
7. Details of Presidents State of union Address for legal immigrants.
8. Statistical details which have shown immigration does not affect Americas growth but helps growth of America.
9. Requests of immigration voice.
We quoted our personal life experience and the hindrances we encounter in our career growth.
I have to say the points were observered with a positive note. and the staff said that these will be conveyed to the Senator.
He also suggested, to contact the media, which we are doing and also told,
he was also aware of immigration voice and its good doings.
He also told the Senator voted in favour of CIR 2006.
He suggested having a direct meeting with Senator would definetly help, as it would have a better impact, but he said that it would be easy to get an appointment of the Senator in DC. At this point, we have requested the immigration voice DC members whether they can have an meeting with the Senator and we can arrange the same with this staff member.
He also requested, if any of our member are meeting with the same Senator office staff in different location(Detroit, Grand Rapids,Escabana etc), please refer this staff name for continuity reasons.

I will be sending a Thank you letter soon to this Staff.

...and may I know what is bad in this ?!

Looks like for the ROW the EB3 moved by a year. In march it was for August 2002 and in April it is for August 2003. That good for some folks who are rest of world....like me. Still 2 years away for me......

E-filed on May 5th, FP on June 6th, no updates since. Concerned as I'm working on EAD and current one expires August 29th.
Paper filed AP in late June, approved already (as per e-mail) even though I only needed it in mid October!!

In case anybody noticed, the GREATEST friend of EB community, Senator Durbin is now the acting Chair of the Senate Judiciary Committee. In the absense of Sen. Kennedy, our GREATEST FRIEND is going to bat for us. Its going to be Great and we will see Recapture be the first bill pass in 111th congress. Congrats everyone, the GREAT participation of over a million "highly educated" "highly informed" immigrants will now be rewarded.

Additionally, they can "spill over" only in the last quarter...
So all in all, I do not see much of GC approval till the last quarter of next fiscal year; those 120k preadjudicated cases will sit in show case....
I used to like Ron Gotchers ideas and used to visit his site/blog; but after initial few months, I realized that he does not know any more than any of us...he just throws in ideas; some of which are completely base less....I feel bad about those people who believed his ideas and opted for CP while USCIS has already preadjudicated large number of applications....(he predicted at that time that July fiasco will happen every year, so do CP)

I agree that retrogression problem has nothing to do with this and increasing 150% fees will not process your application 150 times faster. But atleast when we are eligible to file 485, this could take a less time than it does takes right now. Even a one month earlier processing could be very helpful. Quality of service is directly dependent on the resources available and that is dependent on the funds.
I believe this will process the pending application faster than currently it takes.

Eb2 will move gradually but it may move up to 2006 or 2007 as Eb1 spill over and Eb1 and Eb2 spillover from other countries will be transferred to Indian and Chinese Eb2. Again it depends on how many people are waiting in Eb2

AC 21 is complicated, the whole GC process is complicated. Lot of us are thinking 180 days ahead for changing employers.. please think about September 18th. We need to make a difference. I got mine from Walmart, after i heard from couple of my friends. they give 6 photos for 8 bucks or something, where-as if you go to places like Walgreens or CVS.. they only give 2 photos for 8 bucks.

Yes my in-laws are fine and they were not disappointed seeing me in person. But I am gigling by looking at this thread is growing and at page 3 someone put a shame on this thread. As for me sometime its fun and Ok to share minor detail or personal detail to give confidence to someone doing same thing which we went thru(like I have beein using photos taken at Kinkos and Sears). Nevertheless since date is coming closer to file our 485 it makes me happy to see several smiley face and helping hands in IV forums. Glad to be helping others and ignore rants of others.
