Did anyone got LUD on their I-140? I have an LUD on my I-140 on 04/20/2008. Most of the people got their LUD on 07/13/2008.

1) Try state group insurance
Texas and for that matter every state has a group insurance coverage for folks
who donot get coverage from any other insurance provider.
This is a coverage that you will get for sure, only document you will need is a written paper from insurance company that one cant be insured.
Check the state insurance board website.
2) check free clinics, these clinics will provide complete care ( you can pay them if you like)if you dont thats fine too. I suggest paying them if you can even if its a bit high, as someone who cant afford may one day get to use this service too.
3) Ask yours employer's insurance agent, group insurances gurantee insurance.
Donot worry, life works in interesting ways. As last resort one can go to home country for delivery.

Hi Guys -
I filed my I485/EAD/AP at Nebraska on July 24th, 2007. Got receipts for all of them on September 19th. Done FP on October 23rd for myself and my wife and saw a LUD on I-485 a day after. EADs were approved and received on October 10th. But i have not received AP yet. Looks like my application is still with NSC. Never got a transfer notice or anything and online status also shows "Case received and pending at Nebraska".
There is only one LUD on AP and that was on September 21st. Nothing after that.
Anybody in the same boat? Do i need to make an infopass to get more information on this. I need to travel in December and want to make sure i get AP before that.

What's is Frist's motive in trying to trip the McCain - Kennedy or Specter's Markup? What's his point?
Looks like in Congress, each senior senator is a leader of his own and don't tolerate or cannot see eye to eye on more serious work of fellow senators or congressman. The idea is to trip the whole effort to treat illegal immigrants as humans. In Frist and its ilk's opinion, they want the services of illegal (and legal) immigrants, but this great country doesn't want to give any benefits to the illegal aliens in return. It's is so farcical, only the feudal minded Frists' can do it. Many in this country want 'closure' for this and 'closure' for that, but they deny all relief to these illegal aliens. Our goal of relief from retrogression and to increase visa numbers is unfortunately tied to such 'comprehensive bills'.
I want users of this forum to think about it, ruminate on it and write letters to law makers, newspapers etc.

Your idea is marvelous, I totally agree, if not five years, make it eight or ten years but should have something like that. I don�t know how easy/hard is to get this implemented. But we could try for at least some relief once a person finishes a decade in this country.

This causes people from India and China to wait over a decade to get a green card whereas someone from another country with similar or lesser abilities can obtain permanent residence in a fraction of that time. Lack of permanent residency has made me hesitant to buy a house or to do any long term investments in US and I want to get out of this limbo at the earliest.
My requests to you are:

I know before you start blaming me for this thread, as it is of no use, I would like to point out that most of you must be experiencing the same thing. I didn't care much for Visa bulletin until it became current for EB2 two weeks back. As the time progress, I am doing all sorts of things, like checking USCIS case status, and checking everything that can possibly give me some information. I know that it is waste of time, I know it is not good for health, I know that I will get GC when time comes, but still, my mind is tricking me to think about it. I checked all these forums until 2A.M last night. I am not having enough sleep. I am waiting for a opportunity to get rid of my desi employer. I am really getting frustrated (I am not saying that I have been waiting for GC approval desperately). I just want to share my frustration and what I have been going through. I know I am in a better position than most of other people whose priority date is not even current. I wish they never dangled a carrot in front of me. I am not sure if they disappoint me next month, but I am still keeping my hopes. Hopefully, I would get over this and have enough sleep from today.
Look back and recall the time when you told yourself that if you ever made it to the US, you are going to visit place A or do thing B. Go kayaking, enjoy the countryside, join a hiking group, play some sports and etc. Don't think too much of this GC thing, it'll never come next month or next 6 months, so stop wasting all your energy on something you can't control. Make full use of your time here. US have lots to offer us if we just let go and start enjoying life. Good Luck!! :)

Whatever IV is doing fine, nobody here denies that. But here are few points which I think eveybody else is trying to convey, which somehow you don't understand:
1. This site has an open forum where not only active members of IV, but other people (cowerds, that is what you think, you out-spoken fellow) also seek advice, share their experiences and hence help each other. And mind you, because of these all people, IV and this site also get so much popular.
2. The other point is WHY YOU PUSH SO MUCH FOR HELP. I think everybody understands the efforts of IV, but let the person decide himself/herself whether he/she wants to give money, go to DC ralley or not. Help is not demanded.
3. Please mind your language. I don't know why you have so much of anger and you use abusive, disturbing language for others. Its very easy to say a F* word, but very difficult to sort out others problems in decent and graceful manner. I don't think any group like IV (CARE, CRY and hundreds of NGOs in India) will push people like you do.
4. And people like you are shame for a group like IV (please ask pappu too to confirm) who spread negativity like you did in this thread.

I hope once DOS decides to change the spillover and give the extra visas to Eb3 (whoever ROW , India....). The ensuing discussions from from the self glorified EB2 crowd here would make for an entertaining reading. I would like to see how much they enjoy the predictions after that.

Now there is at least some hope for EB3 folks to get a new job and apply in EB2, as at least that queue is faster. Sats123, Chanduv23 is correct, also reading that with the paystubs you can avoid the employer letter saying that you work in such position and for such salary, finding out what position they used to file your labor (did you find it in the database on my previous post) and considering that you are about to get ripped off, it would be advisable that you go through that lawyer that someone was saying charges 1000 to file your papers and 500 for your spouse;
Did you get the medicals? I know it takes time now to get an appointment, and if you want to file the I-485 on your own, please ask if you have questions, I think you can get out of this trap and before the immigration rates hike on July 30th.

The dream act is an awesome legislation, my dad was one who sent his application for I-485 and it was received on the 2nd of july. However, due to the July visa fiasco he is stuck like the rest of you guys. My point is rather that I aged out in June 2007 and could not be added with my family, for the month of July. I would receive benefits because this would put me out of status as well...also children of illegals are still children. They are not illegal because they did not choose the right to come here but came without any knowledge. So Please everyone take your time to call your respective senators and email them. Though the website says sold out, I called just now and got a queen room for 109+tax for one night 17th. Thanks for the help.
I just called and the guy said he has the room ; he then started taking all my information and finally asked when I would arrive. I told him on 17th, 7:30am and he said " oh sorry we don't have any room, I thought you wanted it tomorrow"
So check it up again.
Also, if your room has 2 beds, can you share the room with me? We can split the bills and I needed a company too. I am trying to book a room but so far no luck. I still need to book a flight too. I am flying from Oakland on 16th night. Thanks

They are just pointing to one side of story. Yes H1B program has been massively misused by corporations and LLC's ( This includes L1 visa). Yes they have injected huge foreigh labor into US markets (till 2004 it was 120K I beleive and now it is at 80K with L1 extra).
But then there is other side of the story. Look at the competativeness of US companies due to these workers. Look at the massive amount of e-commerece, B2C and B2B commerce that was possible because of the work that these workers have done. Yes it reduced labor cost's and increased the pool of talent that employer could chose from. But then labor cost's were always conforming to DOL laws & prewailing wages for each occassion for most cases ( except few bad eggs, which I beleive was very small percentage of this program). So wages argument is not as valid as it looks if anti' s feel wages have been less they need to ask DOL to increase prevailing wages to what they feel is right but then that will make all these innovations extremely expensive and companies will face budget constraints and feel less inclined to try new things. That will make US less competative globally.
