Ok, I've seen a lot of threads about go to the rally, actions items, I've reading a lot of guys saying dont ask for your receipt status, dont waste your time etc, etc.
Yes we did the rally we were great with all those signs, and appearing in the Indy TV but...
Question remains open:
1. When are they going to increase the GC quota?
2. When congress id going to do something?
I've the feeling that that's it we made our point but we are still with no GC, waiting receipts..............
I would strongly suggest you read the history of civil rights legislation.

They love illegals than us.Immigration reforms means illegals,amnesty and citizenships.
I havnt received my AP applied Jun 29 2007.Nebraska.
Whenever we call them they have a standard answer 30 days,then 60 days.
Latest 30 days.
Its the same for GC too.
They are least bothered.CHC must have been everything.Is every immigrant genious,scientists,doctors,engineers like they have argued.They cannot build wall with only so called expected genious.
Discrimination to the core.
Not even next summer.

Today I got a call from an officer in "immigration and customs enforcement" asking for an appointment to visit my residence for checing my immigration status.
I am on H1B visa.
I would appreciate if someone could give any sort of information related to calling for a home visit.

I saw the show yesterday. It is very sad that people like lou dobbs are twisting the facts by saying around 700,000 H1b visa holders are overstaying in USA. Also on that show one senator named "TOM" forgot his lastname, is saying the same and also that guy even did not know how long H1B is valid, he says it is valid for 5 years after that H1b visa holder become illegal. These kind of people spread hatered among common people against immigrants. is there way, we can sue these guys for their racist remarks/ misleadeing information?
i did watch the show, i feel my blood arousing to fight back. Well, we can try exposing his false faces to other TV show hosts like msnbc, foxnews etc.
Am sure there should be some law point to help us sue this guy.

As far as I know dream act does not offer anything for legal kids. Its all about kids of undocumented workers.
I am not quite sure why should I support this bill. Unless this bill includes age out protections for legal kids or legal kids get the same benefits as kids of undocumented workers, I don't think many people would support this.
Please let me know if you know any provisions that help us or hurt us . I am open to change the mind ...

Hey Bozo - I've been following IV for about 2 years now using my spouse's ID - I just created one for myself today - My wife and I have contributed to IV also. Know the facts before shooting your mouth off - NUT JOB!!!
Why not to use that very same ID you have been using for 2 years to post this one also? That way others will know you have been a member and also contributed in the past. No confusion and peace.

visit your senator's website. Look for links for "casework". Look for contact person for immigration. Call your senator's office at that number. Explain your problem. They will ask you to write a letter giving your case information and requesting them to find out the status. Some senator offices may require you to fill some form in a format pertinent to them with the intention of giving the senator's office permission to inquire on your behalf and to give access to your personal information.
Once they have letter from you they will contact USCIS on your behalf. They will tell you by when they will hear back from USCIS. Make sure you do not call them repeatedly, call them when they ask you to call them or call them after a reasonable amount of time i.e. 2 weeks.

In a way it is always RD, even if it is retrogressed, they process by RD within the eligible cases with some exception scenarios.
I think when its current then its the I-485 RD. If its retrogressed then your PD is very important.

I am traveling this month end to India via Frankfurt. I am on AP. I checked with German consulate in US and officer told me we need transit visa both ways (going and coming back). there are no exceptions. He confirmed the same twice when I went in person to get Transit visa.
I would rather listen to German consulate office rather than interpreting stupid sentences on German consulate web site. So please do get Transit visa with 2 entries.

Nevertheless, I did not take transit visa, and with visa stamping expired in March 2010, I travelled with AP on Lufthansa from IAD to BLR in December, and returned in Jan 2011, and nobody even mentioned the word "transit" anywhere along the route. Lufthansa staff is very knowledgeable about AP, both in Wash.Dulles and BLR. In fact, In BLR I saw that even Air France also does not require transit visa for Paris and allowed people with AP to board without transit visa. So folks, dont waste time and money on transit visa. You have already got your case approved. Then why do you mention " ... shall we all unite and file the applications ..." This is like Al Gore wasting energy in his own office and preaching to the world to reduce global warming.
I dont see any merit in your suggestion. Rather to the cynical eye, it all seems sinister.
I understand that there is lot of fear among applicants that USCIS might retrogress the dates interimly sometime in july due to the expected high volume of applications filing in the begining of july.
To minimize the chance of USCIS from taking any such steps, shall we all unite and file the applications on a specific date in july probably on 30th of july? This will accomodate all applicants...so that we shall all be winners and use this opportunity to our advantage instead of competing amongst each other...where only a few will be winners and others will be loosers.
This will also reduce the pressure among applicants , attorneys and doctors.
Can the AILA cooperate? Will there be unity amongst applicants to make this possible??? any ideas ??
