Kit your castle was wild, was it done from a photograph? Yeah, I used one of my old holiday snaps as a reference. One of the places I used to get taken on holiday to when I was a kid was up near Gloucester, and there was this old ruined castle. Used to love going there, and in the middle of this battle I suddenly remembered it and dug out my old photos. Had that next to me while I was drawing it. :)

Folks,
I cannot seem to find the section of the bill re: invalidation of pending applications, that is causing everyone so much heartburn. Someone referenced section 502(d)(2), however if I look on thomas.gov, that section of the bill is about per country limits. Can someone supply either a) latest version of bill text or b) correct section reference regarding current and pending applications?

Filed on 12th july to TSC. Received I 485 receipt, EAD and AP for both me and my wife but no FP notice. My PD is Aug 2003 - EB3 India

there is only one action item right now and it is on the forum.
the update and action needed prior to this was handled by state chapters, however everyone is now up to date with what needs to be done.
state chapters are voluntary but very effective in initiating grassroots approaches to our problems, they have also proved very effective with focussed actions recently. a state chapter is simply a local community that networks and offers support. so it really has many other advantages than just a question of updates.
anyway there is no fresh update currently.
I learned that the full committee meeting was scheduled for June 23rd (yesterday). Was it dropped or rescheduled?? Can you give that piece of information?

Ok, I've seen a lot of threads about go to the rally, actions items, I've reading a lot of guys saying dont ask for your receipt status, dont waste your time etc, etc.
Yes we did the rally we were great with all those signs, and appearing in the Indy TV but...
Question remains open:
1. When are they going to increase the GC quota?
2. When congress id going to do something?
I've the feeling that that's it we made our point but we are still with no GC, waiting receipts..............

Sorry to bring this thread back.
See, what IV few members have written. I found them again in user control panel along with RED dots. I stopped caring about RED dots.
But, there are some comments that really hurts.

One must behave like a civilized person. We came here with atleast Bachelors Degree. Some of them with Master Degree / PhD's. Majority of us are educated and know how to behave with people.

When we e-file EAD/AP, do we get the receipt number the same moment the app is fully submitted or the reciept # comes through the mail from USCIS?

If you look carefully health insurance payments are deducted in advance from the paycheck. So if say you join the new company in February the old company's paycheck at the end of January should be deducting health insurance for February. Taking a plunge now on EAD is like drowning yourself. prices have not yet come down and will come down by 15-20 % over 5 years. there is talk about recession , job losses and more foreclosures. if you dont need the space ...DONT BUY. most of us dont need more space unless we have 2-3 grown kids who need their own rooms. renting is not same as throwing away money as you get a place to live. how does buying a home give you security ..it is more of a hassle if you are on EAD or H-1 and you need mobility after a job is lost. my friend who has good worldly experience rightly said ..buying a house now is like worrying about one more thing in life.
If buying a house had been the smart option, I would have bought it already.

im also in similar situation. wife wants divorce, but since she doesnt want to return to india, she has applied for H1 lottery and waiting. She is working on EAD and requested me to keep her dependent till 2008 october.
we have applied for divorce in india and we will keep the final judge hearing in october 2008.
i asked my lawyer how to handle 485 situation: this is what he said
1. there is no formal process to remove a 485 application.
2. after u get ur divorce decree, take an infopass appointment and explain/ask what shud be done.
3. he said - most probably, the officer will ask ur WIFE to submit a informal letter requesting abandonment of 485 appln due to divorce, along with copy of divorce decree.
4. in case ur wife does not follow up becos she is not in the country etc, you urself can request abandonement for ur spouse.
5. keep record of the letters and correspondence with infopass/USCIS becos incase u remarry and reintroduce a new 485 for new wife, INCASE they raise a flag that u already have a derivative, then u can use the correspondence proof to show old deravative is not valid anymore due to divorce.
6. Lawyer also said, there have been cases where in abandonment letters were sent, and yet GC arrived in mail. basically he told my wife, if ur lucky and i dont get married before 485 approval, there is still chance u will get ur gc inspite of indian divorce being complete. (looks like US dept does not proactively refer foreign records of marraige at the tme of adjudication).
hope this helps...i plan to follow same procedure after my divorce finalizes.

We can demand a purple card for any techworker who had worked and paid taxes and contributed to Social Security and medicare for three continuous years. This card should allow free travel and work permit for spouse. Counterpart of blue card for illegals......Once the priority date becomes current and adjustment of status is complete, purple card is replaced by green card !!!!!!!!

there are motivated members who cannot come for genuine reasons. we are trying to help them where we can- and they are helping others where they can. but they are far outnumbered by the "this is a forum if you don't want tracking why don't you close it" crowd. and the "who are you to ask me" crowd and " participation is voluntary, don't spam me" crowd- you know the drill.
apparently many have forgotten or never bothered to find out that IV is a grassroots organization that aims to end all retrogression. and they have a distaste for education too. after all they are "highly skilled" :confused:

In my opinion, we should not spend any resources on this guy and or to oppose who oppose our views.
We should stick to getting our goals achieved instead of fighting those who are fighting us.
