You can goto a portrait studio, if u dont want digital pictures. For example JCPenny. They take with a polaroid camera. I get them there.
everyone I go to offers Digital Photos (ID PHotos)....my attorneys had said Digitals are not acceptable...but looks like that is all u can get nowadays...

The first thing I would do is call the IRS and ask them for advice. You may call the IRS at 1-800-829-1040. Have the employer name and federal ID ready when you make the call.

I moved out of GE Hyderabad and came to US. I decided to pull all the money from PF. So I submitted the application and came to US and forgot. I got the full amount within 90 days to the bank account specified. I was really impressed the way India is improving

I think it was Zoe lofgren who sent a letter with very pointed questions to USCIS. I don't believe they made public their answer or if they answered it at all; and instead of fighting with Senator they reversed course and opened up the visa dates again. (A big part of me thinks that it was pure financial decision. USCIS was going to have fee increase and they realized that they would lose a lot of money but after they did their analysis; they realized their breakeven point was each candidate renewing ead/ap once and they would break even. They would even come out further ahead by allowing the applications because people would be renewing at least three times whereas in old fee structure it was only built in for one renewal).

How about if IV publishes his brief story( off course with his permission), congratulating him on IV behalf, in all national news paper ( with or w.o his name ) Date of entry, profession, long time wait- reasons and all opportunities he may have missed, couldn't buy house, collage-tution probelms etc and all struggles he has his family might have faced. point by point.
Money would come from special campaign. NY TIMES, USA TODAY, Chicago Tribune, Washington Post, Miami Herald etc. News paper industry is struggling so won't cost much to buy a half/quarter page with a title - " An untold story of legal immigration" Or similar kind of eye catching title. There is a severe shortage of highly skilled personnel in India too.
For those talents , salaries have gone through the roof. Add to that rupee has appreciated a whopping 11% this year...significantly compromising cost advantage.
attrition is a problem to get anything significant done . There are many stories of companies moving out of india due to attrition.
and for those outsourcing companies like wipro , infy etc where name of the game is pure staff augumentation/outsourcing ..... immigration issues will hit their business too.
Add to that all the peripheral issues with doing business in India ....poor infrastructure, cultural issues and overhead/risk of managing distributed teams etc ...
Pure outsourcing/staff augumentation business model employed by Indian bell weather IT companies is finally being challenged.
Simply put: There ain,t free lunch, anywhere.
IMO: Purely from career standpoint , getting a greencard and staying put in US, is still the best option by a distance.

According to my spouse, there were three treatments at the embassy:
Passports retained for approvable/approved cases
Passports returned for rejected cases
Passports retained (no options provided to applicants) for audit cases
In your case, evidently they gave you an option as to whether you wanted to go with the delay. Am I right in assuming that?
Or were you asked to wait with your passport till they cleared up your case at their end?
We are not withdrawing our H1B application that was approved by USCIS. We are merely contemplating withdrawing from getting the actual visa stamp because of the uncertainty.

Initially they said the audit could take 4 weeks but their website (login enabled) says it might take up to 8 weeks.
The officer only said "you will hear from us when we get the clearance."
Said nothing about keeping the passport.

As we all know, the Housing crisis in US is getting worse day by day, with the inventory of houses available for sale increasing, and buyers not willing/able to buy those houses.
Giving speedy Green Cards to July Visa bulletin cases will ease the Housing Crisis in US.
Most of the people affected by the July Visa bulletin are highly skilled people who have the capacity to buy houses, but are not investing in houses, since their future in US is not secure until they get Green Cards.
Instead they end up investing in real estate in Bangalore/Hyderabad etc, thereby helping in housing boom in those places.
If Congress passes a law to give speedy Green Cards to these highly skilled people ASAP; these highly skilled people, who have good jobs and capacity to buy houses inspite of the difficult situation regarding getting loans etc, will help US tide over the current difficult housing situation.
This is something for the US law makers to ponder.

This type of clause is to protect employer for one year. Usually, it is not only trainig cost, it is business also.
You can seek legal protection, complain USCIS and so on. When an employee joins contracts are for 12 months, when you work on niche technology, it will be confidentiality agreement for 2-3 years, and so on. Mostly they are goodwill agreements. If you have problem in signing for this 12 months, how would you be signing technology related agreements?
I have seen business to business relationship broken due to employee running away from clients location. In the begining, even if formal training is not there, clients do compromize to bring to speed. Most of the consultant placements are business to business chains.
Do you intend to break before 12 months?
I have signed for confidentiality contracts up to 5 years, and refused to sign, when wanted not to honour contract, thereby not working for those clients.
If possible avoid troubles otherwise, you already have several suggestions.
That's a totally different story. It's normal to have non-compete clause and it is enforceable, but even non-compete clause will be hard to enforce if it sets unreasonable conditions (i.e. prohibits working for a client for more than 6 months). Also, if you sign a contract, it does not mean you are obligated to fulfill it. If contract violates US laws, it's null and void (i.e. you can sign a clause that you will be a slave for company's boss, but it does not mean company's boss can enforce it in court).
You can seek legal protection, complain USCIS and so on. When an employee joins contracts are for 12 months, when you work on niche technology, it will be confidentiality agreement for 2-3 years, and so on. Mostly they are goodwill agreements. If you have problem in signing for this 12 months, how would you be signing technology related agreements?
I have seen business to business relationship broken due to employee running away from clients location. In the begining, even if formal training is not there, clients do compromize to bring to speed. Most of the consultant placements are business to business chains.

I have signed for confidentiality contracts up to 5 years, and refused to sign, when wanted not to honour contract, thereby not working for those clients.
If possible avoid troubles otherwise, you already have several suggestions.
That's a totally different story. It's normal to have non-compete clause and it is enforceable, but even non-compete clause will be hard to enforce if it sets unreasonable conditions (i.e. prohibits working for a client for more than 6 months). Also, if you sign a contract, it does not mean you are obligated to fulfill it. If contract violates US laws, it's null and void (i.e. you can sign a clause that you will be a slave for company's boss, but it does not mean company's boss can enforce it in court).

I filed on july 23rd got ead & AP but did not get FP. After reading this thread and seeing the patterns i think that if your application is processed by the center where it has to originally go then you get your FP quickly but in cases where your application went to original center and then that center sent to other centers for EAD and/or AP then their FP's is getting delayed, like my self.
I also have another problem. I changed address just after applying for I-485.I think FP is NOT dependent on PD's and or address change.
