...It goes without saying that as much as the United States has a duty to protect its citizens it also has a duty to be equally diplomatic toward foreigners and not continue persecuting the one or the other long after any condemning sentence has been exacted and executed.
I have nothing to be sorry for. I�m still paying my dues along with my family and we�re all grateful for the opportunity to redeem ourselves. It�s time we are recognized. I�m struggling with the principal of the matter. I�m not as bad as immigration is trying to make me out to be.
The government is telling my family I am not an adequate person to form a family with in the U.S. because I was deported with a drug-related offence of more than 30 grams of marijuana, yet it is granting the 212(d)(3) Waiver for Non-Immigrant Visas to Aliens deported with a drug-related offence of more than 30 grams of marijuana and who wish to travel to the U.S.. United States Citizens need an Immigrant Visas Waiver available to their Alien Immediate Relatives deported with a drug-related offence of more than 30 grams of Marijuana in order to even the scales on both U.S. citizen and Alien immigration privileges concerning Deported Aliens with a Drug-Related Offence of More than 30 Grams of Marijuana.
The way things are now U.S. citizens without a criminal conviction and with Alien Immediate Relatives are being discriminated against by their own government. The needs of deported Aliens with criminal convictions are being placed before their own.
It�s pure hypocrisy and it�s my family�s and my name being placed on the line.
I mean, really, how great can the U.S. be if it�s willing to lose their citizens to aliens like me when they decide to move outside of the United States to join their Immediate and shunned Alien Relatives? The U.S. government�s violation of my family�s civil human rights to liberty, freedom of expression and equality before the law is unwarranted. My U.S. family�s civil liberties to equal protection under the law, to due process and privacy are being discriminated against, they are not receiving fair treatment.

Voting multiple times is not allowed, so this is going to be hard to track.
eg. If I vote right now that i have contacted congressman, I won't be able to come back and change my vote when the congressman sends the letter out.

If this is true, how come CIR is one of the main agendas of democratic party. Also remember hispanic votes were a deciding factor in the last election. GOP acknowledges that. Moreover voters demographics has changed since last election. Electorate is comprised of higher percentage of forward thinking younger generation.
IMO anti-immigrant racist voter percentage will be on decline in coming years. So democrats/gop is better off catering to the likes of this younger generation.
Actually it is like the "Gareebi Hatao" (translation: Remove Poverty) slogan for the Democratic party. Something to be used in certain districts for election only.

Maybe if armchair critiques showed up to the rally rather than shoot bogus messages from their desks we could have had a much larger turnout.
Nothing came from the rally, huh? There was no letter to pelosi by republican congressmen to increase EB visas, no letter from IEEE-usa and SIA to leading senators and congressmen for the same or no media coverage at all.. right?
Read the news buddy! If you mean legislative changes from the rally... then take a civics lesson. It has not even been one month since the rally yet. These things take time, but momentum is building (see previous paragraph). Did you expect president Bush to come out in the rally and distribute green cards to all present? So we need to include like a subject line that in one sentence or two captures the essence of our issue(s). Something like:
Subject: LEGAL Skilled Immigrants - Issues faced with Employment Based (EB) Green Card process.
I liked the above 2 letters. If some one can frame a good letter, we can all send the letter to the senators as well as white house. Also we can get our state chapters involved and post all the letters within 2 weeks.

WOW --Right from relationship between coutries tot he pros and cons of war planes we are discussing here.We have people with nice political knowledge per se Ministers and Kings who can analyze how just 11 billion (bully)dollar deal can affect the Green card processing and we have Generals and colonels who knows which fghter plane is good for which country.
But still we are able to manage only around 200 for the advocasy event and large amount of donataions which barely met the expenses. what a pity ;)

as mammoy has indicated, if u quit before 140 approval, and u get RFE; if there is no employer cooperation ( for whatever reason) . u can be in trouble.
better stay with ur curent employer until it get approved. move if u have to to a different client; if u want to stay in ur existing client , try to negotiate if they can continue u on a lower billing rate. take a cut for now as long as its still above ur h1 prevailing wage etc.
