Lou Dobbs is playing to the galleries. The galleries are filled with people like him who are waiting for the sound bytes. The frenzy will keep increasing until it reaches crescendo like the NAZI campaigns. So we need to direct part of our media campaign towards stopping these lies. The only way we will get out coverage is to go out against the big ones and make the noise. We need to get all the ravings of Lou against the legal immigrants every sound byte , every word he uttered against legal tax paying wannabe immigrants( no nationality restrictions). If all of us unite and make a move against him it will make CNN see reason or Lou to talk facts and not the fiction he talks about us.

The disadvantage of not filing for AC21 is if your AoS is approved with USCIS believing that you will be working for the original petitioner after approval.
That is the disadvantage. USCIS will not know that you intended to port to new employer by invoking AC21 and come the time your apply for Naturalization, USCIS will discover it and may suspect you of fraud.

It looks like guys from AP are running away from all the mess their state is currently in. On one hand there's that YSR's son trying to create havoc for the ruling Govt. His dad and himself being the most corrupt politicians the state has ever seen. On the other hand, there's this filthy congress high command trying to counter him. Its like CORRUPT1 vs CORRUPT2 trying to get the throne so that they can remain CORRUPT. And in the wings are parties like TDP, TRS and PRP --- Really, is there a political party in AP (or even India) where one can call it corrupt free? ha ha
I'm not a gulti, but I don't think u can really blame them :). Unfortunate but true :mad:

They are just pointing to one side of story. Yes H1B program has been massively misused by corporations and LLC's ( This includes L1 visa). Yes they have injected huge foreigh labor into US markets (till 2004 it was 120K I beleive and now it is at 80K with L1 extra).
But then there is other side of the story. Look at the competativeness of US companies due to these workers. Look at the massive amount of e-commerece, B2C and B2B commerce that was possible because of the work that these workers have done. Yes it reduced labor cost's and increased the pool of talent that employer could chose from. But then labor cost's were always conforming to DOL laws & prewailing wages for each occassion for most cases ( except few bad eggs, which I beleive was very small percentage of this program). So wages argument is not as valid as it looks if anti' s feel wages have been less they need to ask DOL to increase prevailing wages to what they feel is right but then that will make all these innovations extremely expensive and companies will face budget constraints and feel less inclined to try new things. That will make US less competative globally.

Thats true..everybody are bothered about EAD and FP. I am here for more than 8 years in this country. IV should emphasise this and USICS should allow affected candidates like us to file I-485 and atleast get EAD. we have priority date earlier compared to others.

The main reason that Obama was in India was to sell American wares and the No 1 list of his agenda was the $10.1 Billion MMRCA deal apart from future contracts on India's Nuclear Power generation program.
India on the other hand too has always lobbied the US on H1Bs and overall outsourcing issue and the deliberate maligning of Indian outsourcing companies was responded to with a warning by India that the US will be seriously disadvantaged in its other trade with India should US politicians continue to target Indian IT companies and IT engineers particularly.
This was clear in the Doha talks starting in 2007 and later years in where India chose to bring specifically the H1-B visa issue always , although the Doha talks might not have been the right forum to bring such issues. ( see link below )

No she cant becuase her visa appointment is on Aug 13.
If her visa app. is Aug 13 (I assume it is at a consulate in your home country), she will not get her passport with visa stamped for atleast a few days. This is from FAQ section of chennai consulate in India. So plan accordingly.
When will I get my passport after the interview?
If you qualify for a visa, the passport with the visa will be returned to you by courier in a few days.
Can I get my passport immediately after the interview?
It is the policy of the Consulate to send your visa to you using our courier service.

The fact is republicans don’t like non whites to immigrate to US and the democrats are color blind to most extent but they are class conscious, they like illegals and poor people to immigrate to US because they can control them whereas they cannot control and herd the EB immigrants.
"reforming" the US immigration system by introducing a points based system where even existing applicants like the EB folks who have been in US for the last 10+ years have to re apply in points based nonsense system.
We will all have to fight for our cause but don’t have unrealistic expectations from CIR. Our best bet is a non cir piece meal bill visa recapture bill that addresses EB issues seperate from CIR, it is difficult to get such a bill passed but the chances for such a bill are better then Obama-durbin cir

My biggest fear is "choking up of the already inefficient system"...currently we at least can apply for something and expect it to be processed in few months (longer in some cases), get our EADs and APs renewed, call customer service with questions (although don't get needed info in most cases), get infopass....when they try to deal with "blue cards" and Z visas of 12 million plus illegals, none of this will be available.
And I do not want to start GC process from "scratch" in point bases system when I have spent so much time, money and energy in the current process...
Only and only Ron Gotcher can say "once CIR passes, everything will be current and stay current..." DREAM COME TRUE!

Thanks Ebizash. Yes I too have soft lud's on my wife AP on 9/25 and 9/28. I sent it to NSC. Yes the same barcode scanning reason was told to me by USPS. I hope that USCIS recieved the documents.

Lets just say the announcement is that you can apply EAD/AP once your LC is cleared. Then just like usual USCIS will spend there time precocessing these new applicants and you will have to wait 1 yr just to get EAD/AP.
